Martinez, GA – Mrs. Joyce “Baby” Rushton Knox, 82, beloved wife of 57 years of the late Norman S. “Babe” Knox entered into rest on Sunday, April 26, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Chaplain Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park.
Mrs. Knox worked at Fort Gordon for 32 years. She was a 58 year member of the Augusta Elks Auxiliary. Mrs. Knox served as the State President of the Georgia Elks Aidmore Auxiliary. She was a member of Central Christian Church for 65 years and was a 10 year member of Abilene Baptist. Mrs. Knox loved to travel with her husband. She also enjoyed flower arranging, cooking, and eating.
Mrs. Knox is survived by her daughters, Teresa Metzler (Gerald), Shelli Stephens (Garry), Norma Deese Lee (Butch), and Sherry Laurence; her sister, Jimmie Louise Deese; her grandchildren, Nicole M. Freitas (Nick), Rushton A. Metzler (Mandy), Rachel S. Glover (Will), and Les N. Stephens (Brandy); her great-grandchildren, Harleigh, April, and Dawson Freitas, Knox Metzler, Ashlynn, Cole, and Isabella Glover, and Sophia Stephens; and by her special nieces, Jennifer Nunn (Steven), and Audrey Nunn.
Pallbearers will be Les Stephens, Rushton Metzler, Will Glover, Nick Freitas, Steven Nunn, and Cole Glover. Honorary pallbearers will be Dawson Freitas, and Knox Metzler.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, April 28, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. The family will also receiving friends at the Glover residence. For address information please contact the family.
