Barbara Ann Lupo, 77, of Ocilla, died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla, with the Rev. David Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Old Valley Grove Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Lupo was born April 5, 1938, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late E.C. “Coot” & Velma Horton Roberts. Following the death of her mother, she was raised by her grandmother, Sara Griner Roberts. She was a 1958 graduate of Irwin County High School. She was a homemaker, a farm wife, and worked in the textile industry. She lived in Irwin County all of her life and was a member of Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Carlton Lupo; son and daughter-in-law, Mickey & Brenda Lupo; and a daughter, Sandy Sumner, all of Irwin County; her grandchildren: Magan Lupo, Blake Sumner, Amanda & Bill Barrs, and Michelle & Brent Griffin; great-grandchildren: Abby Barrs, Shelby Griffin, Raegan Griffin, Brentley Griffin, Emalea Lupo, and Bristol Barrs; a sister-in-law, Patsy McCurdy of Ashburn; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dale Busbin and Troy Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Damon Roberts.
