Jeannette L. Dufresne, 77, of Woonsocket died peacefully Friday afternoon at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of the late Richard L. Dufresne. Richard and Jeannette were married on May 30, 1955 and shared 56 wonderful years together until his passing in 2011.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Leodor and Therese (Pichette) Cote. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
In her early years Jeannette worked at Najarians, the Nyanza mill and Uniroyal. She was later employed by Almacs’s Supermarkets for many years until retiring.
Jeannette was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph’s Parish and was devoted to her family.
Jeannette was the mother of the late Marc L. Dufresne and mother-in-law of the late Joanne Doura Dufresne. She was the sister of the late Robert P. and Rene R. Cote.
She is survived by her brother Leo T. Cote and his wife, Terry, of Milford, MA, her step-grandson Jason Passano and his wife, Samantha, and their son Ethan all of Woonsocket, a step-granddaughter Jamie Oliveria and her husband, Daniel, of Fall River and a sister-in-law Rachel McKeon of Woonsocket. She is also survived by her nephew Ronald C. Houle of CA, niece Gail Laliberte and her husband, Alan, of North Smithfield and a cousin Annette Fleuette of Woonsocket. Jeannette also was very appreciative for the love and support of her wonderful neighbors.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
