Anthony L. Alonardo passed away unexpectedly Wednesday night. He was 48. Raised in South Medford, Tony graduated from Malden Catholic High School with the class of 1984. He went on to earn degrees from North Shore Community College and the Wentworth Institute. Tony worked as a Fios Technician with Verizon and was a member of IBEW 2321. A Wilmington resident since 1991, Tony was active in the youth hockey organization there. Tony also played in a local men’s league. A member of the Knights of Columbus in Wilmington and active member of St. Dorothy’s Parish, Tony along with some of his friends made wine at home. A popular guy with many friends and a large extended family, Tony was most happy at spending time with his loving wife and two adoring daughters.
The beloved husband of Donna (Olimpio) Alonardo, he was a devoted and loving father to Sara and Michelle Alonardo, both of Wilmington. He leaves his beloved pet dog Abby. He was a cherished son of Dorothy (Gigante) Alonardo of Medford and the late Michael Alonardo. He leaves his dear siblings: Michael and his wife Donna of Wilmington, Thomas and his wife Donna of Medford, Marie Orlando and her husband Gerard of Medford, the late Richard Alonardo and his surviving wife Cheryl. The devoted son-in-law of Dorothy and Ciriaco “Jerry” Olimpio of Florida, he was the brother-in-law of Debbie Johnson and her husband Kevin of Peabody, Paul Olimpio and his wife Lonnie of Virginia. Tony also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.
Family and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday from 4 thru 9 PM and again on Tuesday morning, April 28th at 9 followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Saint Dorothy Church, Main Street, Wilmington, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
