Margaret “Louise” Paulk Taylor, 90 of Tifton passed away Friday, April 24, 2015, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Gary Cadwell officiating. Mrs. Taylor will be laid to rest at Prospect Cemetery in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 26, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Taylor’s grandsons, Seth Dozier, Hugh Jernigan, Lee Boney, Jay Laycock, Mark Lyles and Adam Hampton will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Taylor was born August 27, 1924 in Atkinson County, the daughter of Fisher Boyd Paulk and Minnie Byrd Paulk, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Carlton Taylor; an infant daughter, Patricia Dianne Taylor; a granddaughter, Alindia Dawn Watson; six brothers; and two sisters. She was retired from Modern Fibers in Fitzgerald and member of Eastside Baptist Church in Tifton, where she was a member of the Precious Few Sunday school class and was part of the tape ministry for shut-ins. During World War II, she worked at Mobile, Alabama and Warner Robins Air Force Bases. She did sewing in her home and was well-remembered for being the best seamstress in Tifton for any kind of alterations. She was also a member of the Golden Age Club.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Oliver Loper of Tifton and Linda and Hubert Jernigan of Enigma; her grandchildren and their spouses, Dawn and Mark Lyles, Brooke and Jay Laycock and Hugh and Brooke Jernigan, Seth and Rachel Dozier, Michelle and Lee Boney and Aalana and Adam Hampton; her great-grandchildren, Dalton Lyles, Megan Lyles, Reed Laycock, Taylor Stanfill, Jaycie Lee Laycock, Bentley Jernigan, Reese Dozier, Cullen Boney and Amelia Hampton; and her special care-giver, Rose Baisden.
