Obituary

Evelyn Eunice (Pinardi) Ianzito, 102, of Manchester died Thursday at a local nursing facility after a period of declining health.
She was born in Milford, Massachusetts on March 1, 1913, a daughter of David and Isolina Pinardi. She was graduated from Milford High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
Mrs. Ianzito was an English and foreign language teacher at Bellingham (MA) High School and later at Milford High School.
She married Attorney Samuel M. Ianzito in 1945 and moved to Manchester when Mr. Ianzito was appointed Chief Attorney of the Veterans Administration’s Regional Office.
Mr. Ianzito died in 1985.
Mrs. Ianzito taught in the Manchester School System from 1960-74, first at the Maynard School and later at Hillside, where she was a member of the school’s inaugural teaching team.
Over the years, Mrs. Ianzito was active in a wide variety of local organizations including the Sacred Heart Hospital Associates, Manchester College Women’s Club and Manchester Education Association.
She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.
Family members include her daughter, Mary Ellen of Manchester, and her son, Michael (Andrea) of Atlanta, Georgia, and two grandchildren, Kika and Elena, also of Atlanta. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews, and her grand-niece, Tara Reynolds, of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Mrs Ianzito was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at St. Catherine of Siena Church at Webster and Hemlock Streets. Celebrant was cousin of the deceased, the Reverend Nicholas J. Morcone, OSB, of the Glastonbury Abbey, Hingham MA. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bedford.
