Obituary

Haworth, Thurman Ellis “Jim”, age 89, entered into rest on April 22, 2015 in Spokane. Jim was born on October 7, 1925 in Dryad, Washington to Lewis and Vera Haworth. He was one of eight children, all of whom preceded him in death. Great-great granddaughter, Destinee Villa, also preceded him in death.
Jim served in WWII with the United States Navy as a 2nd Class Petty Officer on the USS LST 743. He married Lois Cabbage in Grandview, Washington on December 29th, 1946 and was married for 58 years. Lois preceded him in death on April 19, 2004.
Jim worked in the food processing industry his entire life. He worked for Libby’s in Grandview, Washington and Salem, Oregon. After retiring from Libby’s as plant manager, he went to work in the same capacity for Seneca in Prosser. In his early years he also had a small refrigeration business and worked as an apprentice electrician.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Greene and Gary of Davenport, Washington; his son, Mike Haworth of Lacey, Washington; grandchildren Lisa West of Davenport, Washington and Ryan Greene and Lisa of Ridgefield, Washington; great grandchildren Martin Villa and Sara of Spokane, Washington, Michael Villa and Lenora of Davenport, Washington, Austin Greene of Ellensburg, Washington, Mikaila Goerig of Davenport, Washington, and Tanner Greene of Ridgefield, Washington; great-great grandchildren Zeke and Sawyer of Spokane, Washington, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
