Dorothy E. (Dillies) Heath, 91, of New Bedford died Tuesday April 21, 2015. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Heath.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Oscar and Elsie (Cleveland) Dillies, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Heath was formerly employed as an administrative assistant at the New Bedford Housing Authority for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of the First Unitarian Church, and its Women's Alliance.
She was a selfless, kind, and gentle woman who placed the needs of others ahead of her own.
Her family includes her son, Cleveland Heath of Medfield; her daughter, Susan-Jayne Westner and her husband Rudolf of Niantic, CT; her siblings, Lorraine Parsons of Casselberry, FL and the late Calvin Dillies; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A private burial service will be held at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
