Beatrice (Goes) Jackson, 93, of New Bedford died Thursday April 23, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond L. Jackson.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Jose P. and Aurora (Jesus) Goes, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Jackson was formerly employed as a seamstress at Vanity Fair and Arista Sportwear.
She loved painting, doll making, and arts and crafts.
Survivors include three children, Ruby M. Sabino and Raymond L. Jackson, Jr., both of Dartmouth, and Linda N. Lima and her husband Warren "Butch" Lima of New Bedford; three sisters, Ida Costa of Fall River, and Caroline Cardoza and Alice Botas, both of New Bedford; her stepmother, Irene Goes of Fall River; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Carolyn A. Machado, mother-in-law of the late Edward Machado, and sister of the late Carmen Goes, Felix Goes, and Belamina Barros.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 3-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
