Obituary

Frank P. Miranda. Age 86. Husband of the late Beatrice (Carvalho)Miranda. Residence 100 Amity St., Fall River, Ma. formerly of Cory St., Fall River, MA. Died Sunday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, MA. Son of the late Manuel Miranda and the late Guilhermina (Matta) Miranda. He was a lifelong resident of Fall River. Before retiring he was a Truck Driver for Cook Borden Lumber; then he worked in Maintenance and was a Bus Driver for Citizens for Citizens. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and Retiree’s Club. He was a member of the Sunshine Boys (singing volunteers at nursing homes, mostly at the old Fall River Nursing Home). He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Church.

He is survived by Three Daughters: Julia Platt of Westport, MA, Francine Russell of Fall River, MA and Joyce Berube of Fall River, MA. Two Sisters: Mary Makuch of Taunton, MA and Alice Correia of Fall River, MA. Nine Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren and Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Joseph and Manuel Miranda, Evelyn Cerce-Potvin, and Julia Carvalho.

His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St.Wednesday at 10 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, N. Main St., Fall River at 11 A.M. Internment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 4-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, Ma. 01701.
