John W. Vernacchio, a long-time Medford resident, died Friday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was 92.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Pasquale and the late Giovanina (Forlano) Vernacchio. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a truck driver for Gennaro Bros. Trucking in Somerville and was a member of Teamsters Local 25.
He was the beloved husband of Leonora (Rossetti). He was the brother to the late Philip, Frank, Louis, Gerald, Rose Siracusa, Esther Antonelli, and Mary Vernacchio.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 2 thru 5. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
