John A. Machado. Age 93. Husband of Ida (Rainone) Machado. Residence 455 Brayton Ave., Somerset formerly of 364 Bullock St., Fall River. Died Saturday at the Somerset Ridge Center. Born in Fall River. Son of the late Arthur A. Machado and the late Maria (Sousa) Machado. He was a lifelong resident of Fall River. He retired from the Firestone Rubber Company in Fall River where he had worker for 35 years as a boxer and shipper. He was a member of the Ponta Delgada Soccer Club during the championship years of the 1940's. He was a WWII US Army veteran. He attended Holy Name Church, Hanover St., Fall River.
Besides his Wife of Somerset,He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Manuel "Mac" Machado, Ernestine Machado and Aldina Machado.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River Tuesday at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name Church at 10 A.M. Internment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4-7 P.M.
