Elizabeth “Lizzie” Schoenfeld of Wellesley, died Feb. 10 at the Tewksbury Hospital in Tewksbury. She was 44. Lizzie was born in Boston and was the daughter of Agnes (Hubert) Schoenfeld and the late Dr. John Schoenfeld. She was a longtime Wellesley resident. Lizzie attended Wellesley schools and was a member of the graduating class of 1978 at Wellesley High School. She then went on to graduate from Bentley College in 1986 with a BS in Business. She worked as a computer programmer. Lizzie was very active in the community and was a member of the Barnabus Group and she took part in several musicals with the St. John’s Players. She also sang in the chorus. She was a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Besides her mother Lizzie is survived by her sisters Ann A. Croke of Quincy, Catherine Eckart of Walpole, Agnes A. Kretchen of Winthrop, ME, and her brothers John F. Schoenfeld Jr. of Wellesley, and Joseph M. Schoenfeld of Wilmington, DE. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St.,(Rt.16) Wellesley, on Monday at 8 am. Followed by a funeral mass in St. Paul’s Church, Wellesley, at 9 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7 pm. Private interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
