Wanda Sue Hall York, 71, of Water Valley, Mississippi passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at her residence in Water Valley.
Mrs. York was born March 2, 1933 in Lafayette County, Mississippi, to the late Walter and Lovie Weeks Hall. She was a retired food service supervisor for the Yalobusha General Hospital. Mrs. York was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church and was Junior Vice President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Water Valley Post 4100.
Mrs. York is survived by her sons, Travis G. York and Don York of Water Valley and Joe W. York of Columbus, MS; Grandchildren, John and Jennifer Swinkowski, Brian York, Jacob and Amanda Edwards, Jeremy and Bridget York, Justin York and Lauren York; Great-grandchildren, John Travis Swinkowski, Jacob Swinkowski, Jaclyn Swinkowski and Gabriel Edwards. She also leaves behind six sisters; Dorothy Hendrix of Batesville,MS ,Audrey Simpson of Monee,IL , Flora Cantin of Horn Lake,MS, Ivy McMinn of Bay Springs,MS, Annie Ruth Hughes of Courtland,MS and Joan Kiihnl of Enid, MS: two brothers, Walter Hall of Pope, MS and Larry Hall of Courtland, MS.
Preceding Mrs. York in death were her husband, Dero York, Jr. and grandson, Steven Kyle York.
Visitation will be in the Appleton Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Friday, February 11, 2005 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Saturday Morning, February 12, 2005 at 10:00 AM with Brother Kenneth Izzard officiating. Serving as pallbearers are: Norman Hughes, Mike Hall, Danny Hughes, Allen Hall, James Hall and Gerald Kiihnl. Interment will follow in Lovejoy Cemetery.
