Alfred Pappalardo, age 83, of Woburn passed away February 10th unexpectedly. He was the beloved husband of Mary G. (DeStefano). Born in Chelsea he was the son of the late Margaret (Sporanza) and William Pappalardo.
Alfred was a Woburn resident for forty-one years formerly of Somerville. He was retired from the Veterans Administration where he worked for thirty-eight years as a benefits counselor and administrator. Alfred was a United States Army Veteran of WWII serving from 1942 to 1945 participating in battles in New Guinea and Luzon. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed participating in Woburn youth sports over the years. He enjoyed the military and was a big Red Sox Fan. In addition to his beloved wife Mary, He is surived by his children, Alfred and his wife Anna of Las Vegas, NV, Donna Pappalardo and her partner Elaine Collins of Wakefield, William and his wife Jane of Woburn. He is also survived by five granddaughters; Christina, Lorraine, Amanda, Ashley and Angela. He is further survived by his brothers Emilio, Anthony and Edward Pappalardo, and sisters, Josie Imbornone, Eleanor Recina, Lillian Ferullo, Margaret Driscoll and Jeanette Millie.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Monday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St. Woburn, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 & 7-9. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
