FALL RIVER - Oliver Ferreira, residence 4901 No. Main St., Fall River, Ma. formerly of 47 Seymour Ave., Somerset, MA, died Tuesday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Alice (Dias Pereira) Ferreira.He leaves one son: Richard Ferreira of E. Freetown, MA, three daughters: Barbara Ferreira of Columbus, OH, Emily Zawerucka of Somerset, MA, Maria Ferreira of Fall River, MA, one brother: Diemas Ferreira of Swansea, MA, four sisters: Malvina Medeiros of Fall River, MA, Delia Candeias of Fall River, MA, Sarah Ferreira of Fall River, MA, Ginny Cooper of Oregon, Five Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren, Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Tina White.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Antone Ferreira and the late Maria Ferreira. He was a Fall River resident for 5 years, having lived in Somerset for over 50 years. Before retiring, he was a Sewing Machine Mechanic for Har-Lee Mfg. He was a member of the American Legion Post #228 in Somerset and a member of St. Thomas More Church. He was a U.S.Navy Veteran of WW II.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St. on Monday, February 14th at 9:00 AM followed by a mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas More Church at 10:00 A.M. Cremation to follow. Calling hours will be Sunday 2-6 P.M.
