Richard “Ricky” Curtis Woodard, 51, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Greg Hester officiating. Mr. Woodard will be laid to rest at Liberty Church Cemetery in West Berrien. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 23, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Cory Woodard, Dewey Sexton, David Burney, Chris Overstreet, Kenny Phillips, David Brown and John Dasher will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Woodard was born December 19, 1963 in Tifton, the son of Curtis Woodard of Omega and the late Barbie Erskine Woodard. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by a grandson; a brother; his paternal grandparents, Franklin and Mary Iona Woodard; and his maternal grandfather, Joe Erskine. He worked in construction as a builder.
In addition to his father, Mr. Woodard is survived by three daughters, Ashley Woodard Born, Kayla Woodard and Katie Woodard, all of Elberton; three brothers, Billy Woodard and Chad Erskine, both of Tifton and Mark Erskine of Americus; one sister, Cindy Woodard of Omega; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Erskine of Tifton; and seven grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice of Tiftarea for their care of Mr. Woodard.
