Robert F. Easingwood, 75

Dateline: Norton, MA

Robert F. Easingwood, age 75, a lifelong resident of Norton, Passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
He was the beloved husband of June M. (Coots) Easingwood, to whom he was wed on August 18, 1963.
Born in Weymouth, MA on August 10, 1939, he was a son of the late James and Frances (Hutchins) Easingwood.
Bob was educated in Norton schools. He proudly served as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960, and was honorably discharged with the rank of AN (E-3).
Mr. Easingwood retired with the rank of Lieutenant following nearly 30 years as a Correctional Officer in the Massachusetts Department of Corrections at Cedar Junction in Walpole. He received numerous citations and was also a member of the prison tactical team.
At Walpole prison, he also served as a Special State Police Officer and at the same time maintained a position in the loss prevention department at Sears in Brockton.
When not working, Bob enjoyed the simple pleasure of relaxing at home with his family. He especially loved spending time around his grandchildren and caring for his backyard vegetable garden.
Bob also enjoyed dining out, dancing, trips and vacations taken with his family, and playing with his dog “Ciara”
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted daughters Debra L. Easingwood of Norton and Pamela J. Thomas of Attleboro. He was the cherished grandfather of Marissa Thomas and Zachary Thomas both of Attleboro. He was the brother of Frederick Easingwood of Norton, the late Marilyn Carlson, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life, will be held on Friday, April 24th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Chateau Restaurant, 48 Bay Road, Norton.
