Obituary

Alcide Pineau, 87, of Westport died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Doris L. (Bernier) Pineau.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Ovila and Alexina (D’Auteuil) Pineault, he had lived in Westport for most of his life. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement, he was the plant manager for Fall River Manufacturing. Mr. Pineau was a Communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. An avid fisherman, hunter, snow skier and motorcyclist, he also enjoyed bike rides, walking and gardening, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Including his wife, survivors include a daughter: Diane M. Wingate and her husband Bruce of Westport; 2 sons: Richard A. Pineau of Little Compton and David J. Pineau and his wife Linda of Westport; a brother and 2 sisters: Robert Pineault, Lina Hanley and Rita Carroll all of CT; 8 grandchildren: Jennifer, Julie, Amy, Matthew, Eric, Lauren, Alyssa and Cara; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Normand Pineault, Albert Pineault and Reggie Swainamer.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, April 23, 2015 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Wednesday 5 – 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
