VIRGINIA TALLEY LUCAS, 85, passed away on April 16, 2015.
She was a retired employee of Brown and Williamson where she worked for 27 years, was the recipient of the 1977 Bell Award, taught sign language at Jefferson County Public Schools and volunteered for anyone who needed her services.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 49 years, James “Arville” Lucas.
Survivors include her children, Daryl Ray Lucas, Richard Thomas Lucas (Debbie), and James A. Lucas, Jr. (Brenda); granddaughter, Stephanie; brother, Ken Talley; and sisters, Barbara Grey and Esther Adams.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Visitation will be 3 – 8 p.m. Sunday and after 12 p.m. Monday.
