Michael J. Wilkie, Sr., 49, of Tiverton, RI, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He was the husband of Alice (Costa) Wilkie.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of Roger J. Wilkie, Sr. and Dorothy T. (Gomes) Wilkie of Tiverton. He was the owner/operator of M & R Feed Store, Inc. of Tiverton. Mr. Wilkie was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Church, Tiverton and was a man of great faith. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and customers. He had a passion for classic cars and loved to be outdoors.
Survivors along with his wife and parents include his son: Michael J. Wilkie, Jr. of Tiverton; 3 brothers: Roger J. Wilkie, Jr. of Little Compton, RI, Raymond J. Wilkie and his wife Julie of Bristol, RI and Brian J. Wilkie and of his wife Wendy of Tiverton; 2 sisters: Sandy J. Wilkie and her husband Jay Turner of St. Louis, MO and Terry J. Ferrara and her husband Matt of Mill River, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Chris J. Wilkie.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 8:00 A.M. from the Potter Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa’s Church, Tiverton at 9:30 A.M.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4-8 P.M.
Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
