Obituary

TEWKSBURY — Frank M. Palazzo, Sr., 89, loving husband to the late Fernande “Fern” (Morency) Palazzo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Peregrine Landing of Tewksbury.

Born in Lawrence on January 11, 1926, to Anthony and Louisa (Fino) Palazzo, he was a graduate of Lawrence High School and lived in Methuen for 60 years. He was a long time employee of Raytheon in Andover, attended St. Monica's Church in Methuen, and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing baseball, walking, playing 45’s and watching sports with his wife, family, and friends.

An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the 394th Infantry 99th Infantry Division in Germany and France, receiving numerous medals and badges, including the World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Germany Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge. He was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of sergeant.

He was a wonderful father and is survived by his daughter, Mary and husband Shinichi Hisano; sons, Frank Jr., David and wife Christina (Xifaras), and John and wife Joan (McGuire), close family friend Minerva Morales and many nieces and nephews. He was a loving Grandpa to Megan, Krystle, Antonio, Brandon, Rosa, Javier, Eddy, Jason, Marissa, Kim, Lillian, Jonathan, Julianne, Lauren, Samantha and Cassondra. Those who loved him will always carry his memory in their hearts.

ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St, Watertown, MA 02472. Family and friends may call on Monday, April 20 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. Monica's Church, Methuen, with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, also in Methuen.
