TEWKSBURY - Neil E. Johnson Sr., age 72, a retired long distance trucker, died Sunday
afternoon, Feb. 6, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington after a lengthy illness. He was
the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Homer) Johnson, who died Dec. 19, 1995.
He was born, raised, and educated in Great Valley, New York, the son of the late Leon and Ruth
(Cleveland) Johnson. He had lived in Tewksbury since 1962.
He enlisted in the Navy during the Korean War, and served in Korea.
Upon discharge, and until his retirement, he worked as a truck owner-operator for long distance
freight hauling.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Neil E. Johnson Jr., and his wife Donna (Pell),
Lonnie J. Johnson and his wife Beth (Connolly) all of Tewksbury; a daughter, Kim Hynes of
Tewksbury; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Otis Patterson of NY; nine grandchildren,
Scott, Joshua, Jilliann, Nicole, Jacqueline, Jessica, Scottie, Jodi and Joseph; and one great grandson,
Shaun.
He was also grandfather of the late Jacob Johnson.
His funeral service was held Thursday, Feb. 10, in the funeral home. Burial with Navy honors was at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St.,
