Carmilla J. “Cam” (D’Auria) (Fuccillo) Toner died peacefully in the company of her loving family at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 84. Born in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Amedeo and Assunta (Ciarlanti) D'Auria. Raised in Arlington and Somerville, Carmilla was active at St. Clement Parish, where she attended high school. Mrs. Toner was a Somerville resident for 68 years. She worked earlier in her life as a teacher’s aide in Somerville Schools. She later managed the payroll at Star Market in Cambridge. For many years she delighted readers of the Somerville Times with her weekly column “Ms. Cams Olio”. Carmilla was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a longtime lymphoma survivor who inspired family and friends with her determination and devotion.
The beloved wife of the late Robert A. Toner and Ralph A. Fuccillo, she was a devoted mother to MaryAnn Grassia of Salem, Ralph Fuccillo and his partner Paul Newman of Stoneham, Michael Fuccillo and his wife Barbara of Woburn, Roberta Toner of Somerville, Arthur Toner and his wife Debbie of Lynn, James Toner and his wife Patricia of Billerica, Judy Sabatino and her husband Vincent of Somerville, JoAnn Solviletti and her husband Steve of Billerica and Robert Toner and his wife Karen of Somerville. Lovingly survived by 21 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter, she was the dear sister of the late Livia Casazza, Adele Nolan, Natalie D’Auria, Hortense Willette, Hugo D’Auria, Dorothy Hubbard, Judith Ferolito, Amedeo D’Auria as well as a special loving aunt to Alfred Casazza of Arlington and the late William Casazza. She was also the dear sister-in-law of Dorothy Poudrier and her husband Henry of Belmont, NH and Richard Hill of Carver.
Family and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Friday from 4 thru 8 PM and again on Saturday April 18, at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
