Obituary

ADAMS, Walter L., Jr.- Of Malden, April 13th. Beloved husband of the late Teresa I. (Powers)and survived by his devoted friend and caregiver, Phyllis Watson of Malden. Son of the late Walter L., Sr. and Elma C. (Haglund) Adams. Father of Linda Boyle of Abington, LeslieAnn Robinson of Bellingham, Christina Christo of Randolph and Paul Richard Adams of ME. Brother of Madalyn Kauffman of Tygngsboro, Paul Richard Adams of FL and the late Lilian Carroll, Jean, Larry, George, William and John Adams. Also lovingly survived by his son-in-law James Moorehead and his late wife Theresa as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and his German Shepard Mini. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Service in the North Shore Assembly, 77 Kennedy Dr., MALDEN on Saturday, April 18th at 10 AM. Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem St., (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Friday from 4-7 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
A long time Malden resident, at 93 years of age, Walter passed away at the West Revere Health Health Care where he had been receiving supportive care for just a brief time. A proud member of Local 25 and a truck driver for Spear Trucking Company formerlly located in Chelmsford, Walter loved living his life. A decendant of John Quincy Adams and George Washington Adams, he worked literally everyday of his life. He did what ever it took to make ends meet, from selling newspapers, to polishing shoes. Walter loved his job as a truck driver and loved to travel, spending many trips with his grandchildren. His most favorite places to travel were Las Vegas, California, Niagra Falls and New Mexico. He also loved the community. He played Santa for over 50 years, thrilling children of all ages, from neighbors to friends to family members.. Walter was also a driver for Kotzn Ambulance Company. In an article printed in the Malden Evening News on August 29, 1978, Walter made an ambulance out of his truck and drove cross country to mend his wife's hip.
