Obituary

LACONIA — Hazel G. LaRoche passed away after a long illness on April 7, 2015. She was born on August 12, 1930.

She spent most of her life as an RN at Bellknap County Nursing Home, until she retired. She was well-known for her beautiful love of painting. Her paintings seemed to come alive. She also loved working in her garden and also her flower beds in Northfield.

Her husband became ill, then they moved to Briarcrest in Laconia. This is where she lived until she became very ill and moved in with her daughter Susan, who took care of her until she died.

Hazel was born in Laconia. She was raised in Sanbornton, Hazel was the daughter of Earl and Carrie Smith. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Hazel is survived by her two daughters, Debra (Jim) Daprix of North Carolina, and Susan (Willard) Smith of Laconia. She was predeceased by her husband Edward and her son Daniel, also by her parents, sister Earline Smith and a son-in-law, Billy Adams. She is survived by one sister, Lela (Tom) Corbin of Sanbornton. She's also survived by six grand-children, Daniel LaRoche of Belmont, Sarah (Brian) Hyer of Florida, April (Jason) Morgan of Connecticut, Jason LaRoche (Elizabeth Vaughn) of New Orleans, Jamie (Lawren) Smith of Massachusetts, Christopher Smith and Sarah Sappington of Laconia. She also has four great-granddaughters, Alexis Morgan, Alyssa Morgan, Aubrey Smith and Arianna Smith. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Hazel will be missed dearly by all that knew her, and all who were lucky enough to be touched by her life. Private services will be held at Union Cemetery sometime this spring with her son Daniel. For more information call Susan Smith at (603) 998-0042.
