Obituary

Charles A. Hunter, 87, of Halifax formerly of Whitman, passed away on Saturday April 11th in the West Roxbury VA Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Mary L. (Mahoney) Hunter.

Charlie was born in Millis, MA, son of the late Frederick and Kathleen (Wilmot) Hunter.

He served his country in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 and was a member of the Whitman VFW Post 697.

He owned and operated Hunter’s RV in Hanson for many years.

Charlie, in his younger years was involved in the Whitman Boys Scouts.

Charlie enjoyed his grandchildren, cooking, camping, fishing and was a Red Sox fan and most of all his beloved dog Chester.

His is survived by his children, Patricia Parent and her husband Mark of Whitman, Paul Hunter and his wife Lori of Halifax, Jeffrey Hunter and his wife Sara of Hanson, Jerald Hunter and his wife Karen and John Hunter and his wife Lauren all of Whitman; also 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, his brother Raymond Hunter of Arizona. He was also the father of the late James Hunter. He also leaves behind his dog Chester

Relatives and friend are invited to attend his services on Friday April 17th at 7:45AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00AM in the Our Lady of Lake Church, Halifax. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, Pembroke. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 16th from 4:00-8:00PM
