Mary P. “Mollie” (Teahan) Garvey, age 84, passed away on April 11, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Nov. 18, 1930 in Coughmore, Co. Kerry, Ireland. She was a daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (Rahilly) Teahan. Mollie was a communicant of Mary Mother of Hope Church. She was a member of the Ladies Semper Fidelis at St.Mary’s and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the John Boyle O’Riley Club. She is predeceased by her husband Daniel P. Garvey, and her son Kevin J. Garvey who both passed away in 2002. She leaves 3 sons, Daniel J. Garvey of Ellington, CT, Thomas P. Garvey of Chicopee and Paul M. Garvey of Agawam. She leaves 2 daughters, Maureen Burke of Springfield and Ann Belden of Springfield; 1 brother, Thomas Teahan of Ireland; 6 sisters, Abbie Lindquist of Bronx, NY, Hanorah O’Driscoll of Thornwood, NY, “Kitty” Clifford of Ireland, Margaret Crowley of England, Agnes Brilly of England and Eileen Davis of England; 11 grandchildren, Brian Garvey, his wife Emily, Thomas Belden, Laura Casiano, her husband Tony, Molly Burke, Joseph, Mark, and Eric Garvey, Tarah and Ryan Garvey, Anthony Miles, Daniel Garvey and 3 beloved great grandchildren, Gianna, Liam and Hanorah and also many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by 7 brothers, Daniel, Johnny, Michael, Joseph, Dermot, Padraig and Morris Teahan and one sister Bridgette Kotulski. Calling hours will be held at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Mother of Hope Church at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holyoke Soldiers Home, 110 Cherry St, Holyoke, MA 01040.
