Alexander C. Thompson, 83, of Fall River died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Southpointe Physical Rehabilitation Center, Fall River after a brief illness. He was husband of the late Alice (Branco) Thompson.
Born in Syracuse, NY, son of the late Alexander C. and Julia (Grover) Thompson, he had lived in Fall River for most of his life. A career Navy man, he served his country in the United States Navy for 21 years. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge #118, Fall River and the American Workers Postal Union. He enjoyed traveling with his late wife and gambling, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include a nephew that Mr. Thompson considered his son: Louie “Buddy” Medeiros and his wife Debbie of Westport; 3 sisters: Hildagard M. Spencer of NY, Mildred A. Thompson of NC and Leila Y. Lantier of NY; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Eleanor D. Gregory.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:30 A.M.
Calling hours Tuesday 4 – 7 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
