Obituary

William J. Danis, 93, of Franklin, died April 10 in the Estate of Franklin. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth A. (D’Orazio) Danis.
Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, March 5, 1922, the son of the late George J. and Rose (Hanlon) Danis, Mr. Danis was raised in Woonsocket and had lived in Franklin for the past 67 years.
Mr. Danis had been a mechanic for Vendetti Motors in Franklin for many years, he had previously worked as a machinist for the Brown & Sharpe Company.
Mr. Danis served in the Navy during World War II, attaining the rank of Aviation Mate Third Class.
Bill enjoyed doing yard work, working on cars, doing home improvements and woodworking.
He is survived by his children, Dianne Danis of Madison, Wisconsin, Kathleen Impey of Franklin, Janet Danis of Conifer, Colorado, William Danis, Jr of Greenwood, Indiana and Gary Danis of Franklin.
He is also survived by his siblings, Joan Joubert and her husband Robert of Woonsocket, Ann Morin of Woonsocket, Mary Jane St. Onge of Woonsocket, Edward Danis and his wife Doris of Linwood and was the brother of the late Helen DeFortis, George Danis, Jr., Robert Danis, Irene Ruhmann and Ruth Manocchio.
Bill is also survived by his grandchildren, Steven, Tina, David and Michael Danis and his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Annabelle Molly Danis, Ryanne and Hunter Haynes.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 15 from the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
