Obituary

WEBSTER – Emily (Starzec) Jajko, 94, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 in Webster Manor with family at her side. Her husband, Stanley D. Jajko, died in 1984.
She leaves a daughter, Diana Komorowski of Webster; a granddaughter, Angela Taricco and her husband Mark of Shrewsbury; 2 great-grandsons, Kyle and Jake; a brother, Chester & his wife Irene Starzec; a sister, Frances and her husband Robert Lavallee all of Webster; 2 sisters-in–law, Stasia B. Blair and Annette R. Starzec; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Edward A. “Rudy” Starzec, William A. Starzec and Raymond A. Starzec.
She was born in Webster, the daughter of Alexander A. and Veronica (Motrucinski) Starzec and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Jajko was a frame spinner at local textile mills including Dodge Yarn and Maanexit Spinning Company.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Basilica and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality, the St. Anne Society and the St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club. An accomplished musician, she played the piano, organ and accordion in local bands for many years.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, April 15, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 14, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made either to St. Joseph Polish Women’s Scholarship Fund, or to St. Joseph Elementary School, or to St. Joseph Gymnasium Fund, all 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570.
