James (Jim) Dunn
July 21, 1923 - April 10, 2015

ANDERSON- James (Jim) Dunn, 91, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus following an extended illness.

He was born July 21, 1923 in Anderson to Edith York and was raised by Edith and Jack York, his stepfather.

He was employed by General Motors as a journeyman electrician and owned his own business, James Dunn Electric.

He served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a dedicated member of the Chesterfield Christian Church where he served as a deacon, elder and ultimately was made elder-Emeritus. He was also a member of the Daleville Masonic Lodge. He loved to travel and was a longtime member of Ambassadair. He took his family on many camping vacations and was a founding officer of the Delco Remy Campers Association. He enjoyed woodworking, and was a member of the Master Gardener Club. He spent many hours volunteering at Chesterfield Food Bank and never missed the opportunity to ring the Salvation Army Bell at Christmas.

He is survived by his children, Cathy Orebaugh of Anderson, Daniel (Cathy) Dunn and Amy (Randal) Saathoff ; grandchildren, Jayna (Jason) Friend, Jesse (Jennifer) Orebaugh, Steven Dunn, Melissa Dunn, Brent (Tammy) Bramwell, Paul Saathoff, and Renee (David) Boerstler; great- grandchildren, Jesse Friend, Jordyn Friend, Jonathan Orebaugh, Journey Orebaugh, Alexa Bramwell, Allie Bramwell, and Victoria Boerstler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine (Israel) Dunn; son-in-law, Samuel Orebaugh; sister, Martha McClish; and a brother, Gilbert York.

Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rick Vale and Ned Clark officiating. The burial will take place in Bronnenberg Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post 266 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 3:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to: Chesterfield Union Township EMT and Chesterfield Food Bank.
