Obituary

Worcester – Joseph E. Marderosian, 85, formerly of West Boylston St. died Friday Feb. 4 in the Lifecare Center of Auburn after an illness.

Mr. Marderosian is predeceased by his wife Lorraine (Kraus) Marderosian. He is survived by a son John of Worcester; a brother Harry of Millbury; a sister Florelda “Fril” Mard of Worcester; three grandchildren Jeannine, John and Michael and two great grandchildren Rebecca and Avery. Mr. Marderosian was born in Worcester.

He served in the United States Army during World War II. While in the Army he spent time in both New Guinea and the Southern Philippines. He was awarded the Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific and the American Theater Campaign Ribbons and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with One Service Star.

Mr. Marderosian worked for many years at the former Coes Knife Co. before retiring.

A graveside service will be held at 1:15 PM on Monday Feb. 7 in Hope Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 12 noon to 1 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lifecare Center of Auburn 14 Masonic Circle Auburn, MA 01501.
