Worcester - Mabel A. Vaughan, 67, of Worcester, died March 29, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born to the late Henry Herbert Vaughan and Beverly S. Westgate.
Mabel became an independent resident of Worcester. During her life, she connected with many friends, secretaries, businesspeople, and social workers. Mabel loved to help out wherever she was needed. She had many hobbies, including puzzles and coloring. Mabel’s favorite activity was visiting her many friends throughout the Worcester community.
She will be especially missed by Attorney Robert G. Lian, who has been her guardian for many years, Lori Cashman and the other members of her Lian | Zarrow family which she has been a part of for over 50 years.
Mabel was also a member of the Osceola Avenue home in Worcester. Her family would particularly like to thank Charles Fordjour and Emmanuel Blankson, and all of her friends at Venture Community Services for their compassion, care for and love of Mabel. Also, Nancy K. Berley, M.D. who has known and helped Mabel for many years, and all members of the staff, especially the wonderful nurses, of St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester for their excellent care and understanding of Mabel.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 15th at 10:30 am in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with burial to follow in Saint John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 before the funeral.
