Lynda Gayle Barrentine Griffin, 70, of Enigma passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Enigma Baptist Church with Rev. Pete Jones and Rev. Gerald Purvis officiating. Mrs. Griffin will be laid to rest at Mount Paron Baptist Church Cemetery in Alapaha. The family will receive friends Friday, April 10, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Griffin will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Griffin’s grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Griffin was born February 5, 1945 in Ocilla, the daughter of Thomas Barrentine and Ruth Grantham Barrentine, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Barrentine; and two sisters, Nora Kinchen and Betty Ann Lee. She was a homemaker and a member of Enigma Baptist Church.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her husband, Jason Griffin of Enigma; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kay Griffin of Thomasville; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Lance Ward of Nashville; and three grandchildren, Parker Haughton and Cory Rogers, both of Nashville and Julie Ann Griffin and her fiancé, Clay Coates of Jacksonville, Florida.
