Dr. Robert V. E. Drennen
April 23, 1931 - April 1, 2015

Dr Robert V.E. Drennen went to be with the Lord, April 1, after an extended illness.

He was born April 23, 1931 to Christine (Reynolds) and Edwin Eugene Drennen; graduated from Anderson High School in 1950, attended Anderson College, Ball State University and I.U. School of Medicine.

He was a devoted family man, musician, and artist with a passion for gardening and genealogy. He practiced medicine in Anderson for 35 years before moving to West Lafayette, where he was a physician for Purdue University.

He had a distinguished Military career as a Flight Surgeon in the National Guard, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army.

He was a Free Mason.

He is preceded in death by his parents and loving niece, Connie Williamson.

Survived by his wife of 57 years, Suzanne (Driffill) Drennen, two sons, Robert Eugene (Marsha) Drennen and Randall Don (Kay) Drennen; daughter, Karen Drennen (Chris Resler); beloved sister, Jane Drennen; grandchildren, Chris; Robert "R.J."(Sarah) and Randell Drennen; Nikki Cook; Katryn and Kelcie Lods, Alexis and Angelina Poznanski; and five great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at South Meridian Church of God with Rev. Ed Hiatt officiating, followed by military rites.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m., Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society and Alzheimer's Association.
