HOLDEN-Althea Mary (Richardson) Edstrom passed away peacefully at Holden Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center after enjoying her family and friends over the Easter weekend.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soulmate C. George Edstrom on December 7, 1981.
Her two children survive her, Daughter, Debra Ann Hokkanen wife of Sam H. Hokkanen of Holden and son, David G. Edstrom and his wife Deborah Kane Edstrom of Savannah, Georgia. She also leaves her only grandchild, Kimberly Kane Edstrom Bivins and her husband Dr. Harold Bivins and her great granddaughter, Hannah Kane Bivins, who resides in Zionsville, Indiana. Althea leaves a cousin, Olga Mantell of Holliston and dear friends, Kay Balcomb, Suellen Supernor and Melinda Johnson of the area.
She was a very quiet, sincere person who preferred to work behind the scenes. Her world revolved around her family and friends and she treasured every moment.
She was an accomplished seamstress and a great homemaker as she shone in her home taking care of her family and friends. Althea loved all animals, owning and caring for many dogs, cats and Oh yes on occasion Penny the Skunk and Mrs. Rabbit.
Althea was a good and loving friend and the best of Mom’s. A lesson she taught her family was, “Be Kind To All Living Things.”
Her last days were spent with her family and friends and the wonderful staff at Holden Nursing Home.
So to all of Mom’s friends, past, present and maybe future “Thank you for your many kindnesses to our Mom and Gram.”
We’ll miss you Mom.
In Love and Peace: “Her Family”
