Juanita (Cookman) Holtzleiter

Juanita (Cookman) Holtzleiter, 96, of Anderson, died peacefully April 5, 2015 at Miller's Merry Manor.
She was born March 4, 1919 in Anderson to Clem and Edna (Groff) Cookman.
She was a homemaker. She made over 100 quilts and loved to play cards and dice with her family. She had many friends in Al-Anon.
The mall walkers of Anderson knew her to be a serious walker.
She was very active in the Alzheimer's Association.
She is survived by her four children, Roger (Mary Ann) Holtzleiter; Karel Mendenhall (fiancé Richard Bost) Jon (Janette) Holtzleiter and Karen (David) Bergstrom; brother, Donald (Kathleen) Cookman; thirteen grandchildren, Phil, Rita, Steven, Tom, Kenna, Jason, Brian, Darren, Angie, Kate, Rachael, Tony, John; fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Paul Holtzleiter whom she married November 4, 1939; seven brothers and a sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, April 10 at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church; with Monsignor Robert L. Sell, III officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
