EAST BROOKFIELD: Harold L. Lovejoy, Jr. 94 of Harrington St., died Saturday, April 4 at The Meadows of Leicester.
He leaves his wife of 72 years, Florence B. (Mason) Lovejoy, his two daughters Judith A. Gagnon and her husband Ronald of E.Brookfield, and Kathy Socia and her husband Michael of Newton, N.J., four grandchildren Lori Anthony and her husband Timothy of Palmer, Kenneth Gagnon and his wife Kelly of So.Barre, Beth Hudson of Newton, N.J., and Jill Swanson and her husband Dale of Westminster, five great grandchildren James Henderson and his wife Wan of Ferguson, NC., Melissa Peacey of Chesapeake, Va., Ivy and Michael Hudson of Newton, N.J., and Bailey Gilman of So.Barre, a great great grandson Tucker Peacey of Chesapeake, a sister Alma L. Lovejoy of Worcester, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother William Lovejoy and a sister Renee E. Lovejoy.
Harold was a longtime shipper at Thom McCann Corp. in Auburn, retiring in 1981. Previously he was employed at Wyman Gordon in Worcester for 20 years.
Born in Worcester , he was the son of Harold L. and Martha A. (Gilbey) Lovejoy, Sr. and later graduated from Oxford High School. He was a member of the East Brookfield Baptist Church and a member of the Lashaway Senior Citizen Club.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Meadows for the exceptional care given Harold while a patient at the facility.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. in the E.Brookfield Baptist Church, 262 Main St., E.Brookfield, Ma. Burial will be private in Evergreen Cemetery, E.Brookfield. There are no calling hours.
