Obituary

Raymond R. Gifford, Sr., 85, of Gorham, passed away Saturday April 4, 2015 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born on July 2, 1929 in Old Town, Maine the son of Fredrick and Clara (Pelkey) Gifford. He was raised in Old Town, Maine and he served in the United States Navy for 4 years and 8 years in the Marine Corps Reserves and served in the Korean War. He has resided in Gorham, NH since 1956. Raymond worked for the Town of Gorham Water and Sewer Dept. and retired in 1992 and has been a property manager for Stewart Property Management for the past 26 years. Raymond was a member of the American Legion in Gorham, the VFW in Berlin, and the F. O. E. and enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially time spent with his family. He was also an avid sports fan.

Family includes his children Raymond “Gibby” Gifford and and wife Sheila of Lawrenceville, GA, Raylene Beaulieu and husband Leo of Gorham, Russ Gray and Heidi of Gorham, Romona Lamontagne and companion John of Berlin; 7 grandchildren Jason, Erica, Melinda, James, David, Shelley and Lee; 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

At Ray’s request there are no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gorham Community Learning Center, 123 Main St., Gorham, NH, 03581, ATTN: Melinda Beaulieu.
