Obituary

Nee, John James, 71, of Medfield, formerly of Norwood and Jamaica Plain passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2014. Johnny's concept of family transcended continents, generations, and genetics. "Family" was more than an abstraction for Johnny - it was the orbit in which he moved through life and it meant everything to him. His first family included his beloved parents, the late Michael and Mary Nee, and siblings the late Thomas Nee and wife Judith, Michael Nee and his wife Sheila, the Rev. Robert Nee, Martin Nee and his wife Sheila, as well as Judy Bain and her husband Ronnie. His family grew after he married the late Claire (Babin) Nee and they welcomed their children and later, their spouses: Paul Nee and wife Eileen, Karen Dullea and husband Paul , Elaine Nee, and Jimmy Nee and wife Karen. The next chapter brought beloved wife Jean Mulloy (former wife of Johnny's good friend, the late Larry Mulloy) and her children Larry Mulloy and wife Sue, Michael Mulloy and wife Debbie, Trish Brooks and husband Mike, and Kevin Mulloy. He loved them all as part of his ever-growing family. When the younger generation expanded their families, Johnny always found more room on his team and love in his heart. By the time he completed his journey, he had six grandchildren: Jack, Callaghan, Claire, Addison, Emma and Reagan as well as four step-grandchildren: Josh, Zach, Kelsey, and Jillian. He has countless nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, and kin from Boston to Galway. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood on Friday April 10, 2015 at 9 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Timothy's Church, Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 9 from 4-8 PM. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Johnny was a former District Deputy for the Knights of Columbus, member of the Norwood Elks, and retired employee of the MBTA. His family would like to express its utmost gratitude for the exceptional care the staff of the Armenian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center took of Johnny, as they were a constant part of his family for the past 11 years. Donations can be made in Johnny's memory to Armenian Womens' Welfare Association, 435 Pond Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
