PLAISTOW, NH: F. Audrey (Carey) Winter, 82, died peacefully Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the Exeter Center. She was the wife of the late Ernest R. Winter who died in 2001. They shared forty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Haverhill on May 20, 1932 she was the daughter of the late John W. and Margaret V. (Blackburn) Carey. She was a graduate of St. James High School class of 1950. She had resided in Bradford for many years before moving to Plaistow forty years ago.
Audrey enjoyed being a homemaker and especially loved spending time with her family and babysitting her grandchildren when they were younger.
She is survived by her six children, Cheryl Meehan and her husband, Michael of Jefferson, NH, Ernest Winter, Jr. and his wife, Debby of Plaistow, Colleen Gervais and her husband, Gerard of Rochester, NH, Stephen Winter of Plaistow, Cathleen Fowler and her husband, Carl of Methuen and Cynthia Winter of Plaistow; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, M. Viola Gallant of Merrimac, MA; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Paul and Marie Carey of Florida, Rachael Carey of Merrimac, James and Sue Carey of Merrimac, MA and Robert Carey of Merrimack, NH and Cathy Carey of Bradford and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers, John and Richard Carey and a sister and two brothers-in-law, Rose and John Proia and Omer Gallant.
Her visiting hours will be held on Wednesday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill from 4 – 7 p.m. with a service to follow at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Life Choice Hospice, 65 Lafayette Rd., #302, North Hampton, NH 03862. Interment will be privately held in Union Cemetery, Newton, NH.
