Obituary

Dana W. Adams, 76, of 61 Camelot Dr., died Monday, Jan. 31st, at The Memorial Hospital, Worcester. Mr. Adams was born in Worcester on December 8, 1928, to Ralph W. and Ruth E. (Hesselton) Adams. He lived most of his life in Boylston before moving to Worcester.

He leaves his loving, devoted, and cherished wife, Loretta (Corchary) Adams; three children, Georgiana, and her husband, Richard Zepp, of Northbridge; Dana G. and his wife, Laurie Adams, of Vermont; and Kenneth P., and his wife, Arlene Adams, of New Hampshire. He also leaves two step-daughters, Deborah, and her husband, David Carlson, of Rutland and Elizabeth, and her husband, Gregory Stevenson, of New Hampshire. He leaves seven grandchildren: Jennifer Barents, Dayna Girouard, Katie Zepp, Matthew, Nichole, and Will Adams, and James Adams. He leaves four great-grandchildren: Kylie Barents, Jocelyn and Trevor LaVallee, and Haylee Sue Girouard. He also leaves his beloved sister and brother: Mrs. Russell (Joyce) Fuller of Worcester, and Donald Adams of Boylston, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Adams was a plant supervisor at Norton Company in Worcester for 35 years. He than was a real estate appraiser for Horne & Hastings in Worcester. He was an avid sportsman and enthusiast. He was a charter member of The Greendale “Y” and a former member at Holden Hills Country Club and Westminster Country Club. He loved the game of golf.

Mr. Adams directed and sang with the Worcester Men of Song for many years. He also directed the Framingham Gateway Guardsmen Barbershop Quartet, The Four of Note. He was the organist and choir director at several Worcester area churches including: All Saints Episcopal Church, Worcester; Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, Shrewsbury; The First Congregational Church of Boylston; and most recently Bethlehem Covenant Church, Worcester. Mr. Adams was a frequent feature soloist in the Worcester area and also was a summer guest organist at many surrounding area churches. Dana was a Mason, member of The Boylston Masonic Lodge, and a member of The Boylston Graduate Association. Mr. Adams was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Boylston and continued to sing with their choir on many occasions. He was a member of Bethlehem Covenant Church and served on the music and stewardship committees and also sang for many years in the choir after retiring from his organist/director position.

The Memorial/Celebration of his life will be held this Saturday, February 5, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at Bethlehem Covenant Church, 46 Greenwood St., Worcester, MA 01607. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dana’s memory to Bethlehem Covenant Church or The First Congregational Church of Boylston, P.O. Box 904, Boylston, MA 01505.
