FALL RIVER - Belmira (Mathias) Mello, age 85, residence 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, Ma. formerly of 27 Alfred St., Fall River, died Monday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph Mello. She is survived by one Daughter: Jacqueline Alves of Fall River, MA, one sister: Lucy Howarth of Fall River, MA, Two Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren, & Several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Joaquim Mathias.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Joaquim Mathias and the late Emilia Mathias. She was a life long resident of Fall River. Before retiring, she was a Wrapper at Duro Finishing Co.; previously she worked at Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. She was a member of the former St. Elizabeth Church and a member of Holy Name Church.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St. on Thursday at 8:00 AM followed by a mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name Church, Hanover St. at 9:00 AM. Internment in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown, RI. Calling hours Wednesday 5-9 P.M.
