Visiting Hours will be held in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 4-8pm. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date in Cedar Knoll Cemetery. Janet C. (Thomas) Yankun, 59 years died Sunday evening at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Boston she was a daughter of the late Delbert and Claire (LaMontagne) Thomas. She was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of South Boston High School. She was a homemaker, raised her three daughters and worked part time at Bradlees in Dorchester and Brockton and had also been employed at the Foxboro Company in Bridgewater. She enjoyed arts and crafts, attending flea markets, time spent at Nantasket and Revere Beaches, and taking long driving trips. She had been a resident of Brockton since 1965, and been a communicant of St. Nicholas Church.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years James R. Yankun, three daughters Christine Strang of Bourne, Barbara Slack of Randolph, Michelle Nolan of Raynham, five grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, one brother William Thomas of Plymouth, one sister Claire Gallo of Plymouth.
She was the sister of the late Shirley Mace.
