Obituary

FALL RIVER - Arthur Cordeiro Amarello, age 88, residence 110 Baldwin St., Fall River, MA. Died Sunday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Cynthia Julia (Sylvia) Amarello.He is survived by three Sons: John A. Amarello of Fairhaven, MA, Michael A. Amarello of New Hampshire, Joseph M. Amarello of Connecticut, One Daughter Cynthia Rose Smith of Martinez, GA, One Sister: Gilda Mello of Fall River, seven grandchildren & several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late John, Manuel, and Joseph Amarello, Connie Amarello, and Mary Aguiar.

He was born in Fall River, MA, the son of the late Antone Cordeiro and the late Mary (Massa) Cordeiro. He resided in New York for 17 years, and returned to Fall River in 1954 to present. Before retiring, he was a Hospital Supply Worker at the Newport Naval Regional Medical Center in Newport, R.I. from Jan. 2, 1942 to Aug. 27, 1977, where he received many “Outstanding” awards. Then he worked as a Security Guard at Best Security until 1987. He was a parishioner of St. Michael Church.

His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St. on Wednesday at 9:00 AM followed by a mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, Essex St. Fall River at 10:00 AM. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8 P.M.
