James E. Portman 90, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Franciscan Health Care.
He was a retired machinist for Tube Turns, with 44 years of service, a Marine veteran of WWII, a member of Millcreek VFW Post #5421, Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Monsignor Newman Counsel and a member of Incarnation Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Katharine; parents, Charles and Mary Portman; brother, Bernard Portman; sisters, LaVerne Gillespie and Wanda Fitzpatrick.
Survivors include his daughters, Kathy “Kat” Clifford (Bill) and Angela Burks (Roberts); Brother, Charles “Charlie” Portman; sisters, Mary Hall, and Jeri Clark; and four grandchildren, Sophie, Anna, Joseph and Leo.
His funeral will be 10:00am Saturday at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens, West.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 8:00pm Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.
