Philip F. Vaccaro passed away peacefully at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge on Wednesday evening. He was 93. Born and raised in East Boston he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Mangaliviti) Vaccaro. He served with the Army during World War II. As a Captain, he served in the Pacific Theatre of operations in the Philippines, New Guinea and Luzon. After his discharge, he went to Northeastern University and earned his degree in electrical engineering. He enjoyed a long career with several electronics firms in the area until his retirement.
The husband of the late Rose M. (Katula) Vaccaro, he was the father of Elaine Stiehl of Somerville and Philip Vaccaro and his wife Carol (Knowles) of Stoneham. The grandfather of Dan Stiehl and his wife Lindsay, he also leaves his great grandson, Domenic and Vincent Stiehl.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden on Saturday, April 4th at 1 PM.
