Sr. Jeannine Lamoureux, PM, (Sr. Elphege-Marie), 86, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Manchester, NH, died March 30, 2015 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI on July 30, 1928 to Elphege and Alida (Lafond) Lamoureux. She made her first profession with the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1949 and her final profession in 1954.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Rivier College in Nashua, NH.
Sr. Lamoureux taught at parochial elementary schools in New Hampshire at Berlin, Dover, Hudson and Manchester and in Rhode Island at Coventry, Marieville and West Warwick. In retirement, she continued as a part-time French teacher at the Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, NH. She then resided at St. Joseph Residence in Manchester, NH.
She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Edgar and Rene Lamoureux.
The family includes a sister, Aline Lafleur and her husband, Robert, of Woonsocket, RI and cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH. Burial will be in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of the Presentation of Mary Retirement Fund, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH 03104.
