FALL RIVER… Leo A. Fournier, age 87, of Fall River, MA passed away March 27, 2015.
He was the husband of Helen (Wisz) Fournier to whom he was married for 67 years.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Ernest and Marie (Sirois) Fournier and was a lifelong resident of this city.
During War II Leo enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17 and served as a Seabee in the Pacific.
He was employed at Ashworth Brothers as a tool & die maker then as a supervisor for Naval Underwater Systems Center in Rhode Island and retired in 1987. Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing, and growing his own vegetables.
He was an avid trap & skeet shooter and was a member of several Sportsmen’s Clubs to include High Hill Fox & Coon Club and Fall River Rod and Gun Club.
Leo was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church, Fall River, MA.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a son; Paul of Fall River, a daughter; Linda of Chugiak, AK, a grandson; Michael, 2 granddaughters; Tara and Thais, 2 step-granddaughters Tamarah and Lauren , 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Therese Regan and Raymond Fournier.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday at 9 AM at BOYKO MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 709 Broadway, Fall River followed by a Christian Burial Mass at 10 AM at Saint Stanislaus Church, 36 Rockland St., Fall River, MA. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River, MA.
